A group of young people from the Ruhr area try to stage a coup involving taking hostages based on a naive script. The participants lack the experience and toughness needed to succeed with the event.

Karla, a bar dancer, shoots her lover Mayer during a break-up. She hides from the police in pianist Pavel Ryant's apartment and promises to return when she leaves.
